I really enjoy making. From illustration to film. From game to interactive installations. As soon as there is a story to tell, the making process begins. I prefer making illustrations, but CMD (Communication and Multimedia design) challenges me to go much further than just that.
Flowers on the horizon
I made this short film of one minute with fellow students. The story is about two girls who each go their own way. In one minute you see the girls have to deal with the approaching farewell and how their emotions become visible. We chose to end the story positively, because in real life it often ends differently with friendships. What I like about this film is the use of nature as a sentimental setting. My role in creating this film was writing the story and scouting the location.


Traveler
I made a little story about who I want to be as a CMD designer. You could decide for yourself in what form you would carry out the assignment. Because I really like illustrating, I chose this. You first see the distance the girl travels, to then continue telling her story at the destination.
Spring has sprung
My goal while making this film was to convey the feeling of spring. By means of video and animation I made a kind of mixed media video. I filmed the videos in our garden, and the animations I made with Adobe Illustrator.



Ongegeneerd
I made a very personal book. It is about my period and the discomforts that come with it. The book is full of descriptions and intimate embroidery. By making this book, I discovered how nice it is to write a personal story.




ParaMen
During the module 'Design for Transition' I designed a logo, house style and product packaging for our product 'ParaMen'. I created a pharmaceutical and masculine look. This was a fun challenge, because I like to design 'feminine'.



De slager van Groenstad
Together with a group of fellow students I made a game. The story in the game takes place in the year 2050. Based on the theme of climate change, we had to come up with a scenario for a game. Our protagonist Gordon is a butcher who tries to sell his meat in a world where everyone lives sustainably. That is why the colors red and green are central in the game. My role in making the game was to determine the style. I started by sketching characters and buildings. Then I gave them color. That's how the world came to life. I really enjoyed creating an image for a story.

Step up!
The assignment was to design a poster with Artificial intelligence as a subject. I really hate AI. Artists work hard on their beautiful works, while others have generated an image within ten seconds. In my poster I try to depict how human creativity is trampled by a dark boot (AI). The human creativity that is depicted as a flower bulb had to be beautiful. I gave the boot a crazy effect, because AI also feels a bit strange.
Enchanted garden house
By making this escape room I learned to work in Blender and Unity. I tried to make an enchanted garden house with matching ornaments. By means of movement and music I made it come to life. The player has to look for the missing shovel. Instead of the shovel the player finds a coin that he can exchange with the garden gnome for the missing shovel. I really enjoyed creating a room in a certain style and bringing a little world to life.
